OpenwayVPN ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your real name or other personally identifying information.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple App Store. We do not store your credit card details or any payment instrument data.

Usage Data

We collect minimal technical data necessary to provide our service, including:

Timestamp of connection (not content)
Amount of data transferred (not the data itself)
Server location chosen

  We do NOT collect: browsing history, DNS queries, IP addresses assigned during VPN sessions, traffic content, or any data that could identify your online activities.

2. No-Logs Policy

OpenwayVPN operates under a strict no-logs policy. We do not monitor, record, or store your VPN activity, including websites visited, files downloaded, or communications made through our service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve our VPN service
Process payments and manage subscriptions via Apple App Store
Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
Respond to customer support requests
Analyze app performance and user behavior in aggregate (via analytics tools described below)
Detect and prevent abuse of our service

4. Third-Party SDKs and Services

Our application integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it processes data:

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase for app configuration management (Firebase Remote Config) and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics). Firebase may collect device identifiers, app usage data, and crash logs.

AppsFlyer

We use AppsFlyer to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and attribute app installs to their sources. AppsFlyer may collect device identifiers (such as IDFA with your consent), IP address (used to derive approximate country, then discarded), and in-app events.

Meta (Facebook) SDK

We use the Meta SDK to track the performance of advertising campaigns run on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram). The SDK may collect device identifiers (IDFA with your consent) and in-app events such as subscription starts.

Apphud

We use Apphud to manage in-app subscriptions, process trial periods, and analyze subscription metrics. Apphud processes purchase receipts and subscription status data.

Important: You can limit ad tracking at any time by going to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iOS device and disabling "Allow Apps to Request to Track".

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data only with:

Third-party service providers listed in Section 4, solely to provide functionality described therein
Apple Inc., as payment processor for App Store transactions
Law enforcement or government authorities when legally required and technically possible

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting [email protected]. VPN session logs are not retained beyond the current session.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including WireGuard protocol encryption, secure data centers, and regular security reviews to protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
